Parkside Equine is the Equine division of Parkside Veterinary Group and is based in Dundee, Scotland at 5 Kings Cross Road. Your horse is never seen by a Small-animal (pet) Vet. Our four Equine Vets travel to calls throughout Angus, Fife and East Perthshire areas of Scotland, as well as in and around Dundee. We have an experienced team, comprising Ian Hunter, Alistair Crozier, Christine Thom and Richard Mauritzen. Click on the top link on the left to see them.
To contact us, phone the Dundee surgery, on our direct-dial, Parkside Equine number on 01382 811 111, quicker than phone our main Dundee number at 01382 810 777. Remember, you will always be seen by a Parkside Equine Vet, even when you have an emergency. Some practices have much less-experienced Vets covering on-call emmergencies - at a time when the best care is essential!
When reporting a problem, try to keep calm, give us the owner's address AND a livery address AND a contact phone number - just in case! If your horse is at livery, why don't you arrange a non-emmergency call with other liveries and the visit will cost less for everyone!
As well as treating emmergencies like colics and injuries, we also have out-patient facilities for your horses at our Equine Treatment Centre at Kings Cross Road, Dundee - good for Xray, lameness investigations, endoscopy and ultrasound. We also provide stud work, with swabbing, artificial insemination (AI) with full storage facilities and follow-up scanning. We can carry out advanced Performance Dentistry, ensuring your horse has a well-balanced mouth for a well-balanced ride. Problem mouths can be corrected - see the section on the menu bar on the left. We also carry out (and recommend!) pre-purchase examinations (see "buying a horse") and routine surgery - geldings, lump removals, sarcoid treatments etc. and we use the best Flu and Tetanus vaccines which will provide the best immunity, with the least tissue reaction. Does your horse have a sore neck after vaccination? - our vaccine is the best available to avoid this happening.
