Meet our Team

Alistair grew up on a farm in Cumbria, and graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 1998. He held mixed and large animal roles before joining us in 2002, and has a particular interest in holistic approaches to animal health and advising clients on preventative medicines and farm management. Outside of work, he enjoys walking with his wife and taking care of his own smallholding (which includes sheep, goats, alpacas, hens, dogs, cats and honeybees).

After graduating from  Edinburgh Vet School in 2015, Shannon worked in a rural mixed practice in Aberdeenshire, before joining our team in 2019. Her professional interests include equine internal medicine, equine behaviour, farm animal obstetrics and medicine, and she enjoys having a varied caseload. She spends much of her spare time taking care of her dogs, hacking out with her horse, catching up with friends and watching crime series.

Nicola moved to England shortly after graduating from Edinburgh Vet School in 2020, where she worked as a small animal vet and played rugby for Sale Sharks before returning to Scotland and joining our team. She enjoys tackling a mix of small and large animal work, and spends much of her free time on her family’s beef and sheep farm.

Andrea spent time at our practice while she was at school, but officially joined the team in 2024 after graduating from Edinburgh Vet School and gaining mixed and dairy experience in Stonehaven and New Zealand. She loves getting to know our clients and their animals, and has a particular interest in equine dentistry and farm animal medicine and surgery. Outside of work, she is an avid sprinter and cyclist, and loves camping and hiking in the Scottish hills with her dog, Archie.

Originally from Australia, Isabella graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2024 and loved her time in Scotland so much that she decided to stay here and join the Parkside team. When she’s not working, she can often be found exploring local trails, catching up with friends at a pub quiz, reading a good book or braving a wild swim.

Karen has been an integral part of our team since 2000, bringing extensive experience to her role as Office Manager at our Dundee branch. She plays a key role in the day-to-day operations, overseeing payroll, HR tasks, and office activities while also handling equine and large animal bookings, enquiries, and appointments. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time on her family farm with her horses and dogs.

Darlene has been an integral part of our reception team at the Dundee branch since 2011. With a focus on equine and large animal calls and enquiries, she also plays a vital role in managing client accounts across our branches, ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes. Her warmth and dedication make her a cornerstone of our team. Outside of work, Darlene embraces her love for adventure, seizing every opportunity for a holiday. When she’s not traveling, she enjoys the thrill of bingo and the vibrant social connections it brings.

Jennifer joined our office team in 2018 and is based at our main Dundee branch. Her diverse role encompasses organising visits, handling phone enquiries, managing purchase ledger tasks, and responding to client queries with efficiency and care. When she’s not at work, Jennifer enjoys exploring the great outdoors through hillwalking and perfecting her baking skills in the kitchen.
