Ultrasound

Ultrasound is used for diagnosing pregnancies in most species and assessing tendon injuries in horses.

Ultrasound is used to build up a picture of soft tissues, especially in the abdomen and the heart and can show up abnormaities which X-rays can miss. We also use this for diagnosing pregnancies in most species and assessing tendon injuries in horses.

We have two machines, which are portable and can be taken to any surgery, or on horse and farm calls, each giving different attributes in different species. We will be making further investment in this field later this year.
