We employ trained Veterinary Nurses and we are a Veterinary Nurse Training Practice (TP), always having nurses under training. All our present VNs have been trained here at Parkside, with block release to Telford college in Edinburgh. The expertise this brings to us outweighs the cost of our investment in them.
It is the nurse who constantly monitors your pet during anaesthesia, using internal stethoscopes where necessary, monitoring pulse, respiration and reflexes. The nurse stays with your pet after an operation until all the usual reflexes have returned and the worrying time is past! The nurse even wipes your pets bot and cleans and disinfects the kennel after use. The nurse will explain to you all post-op care before your pet goes home and she will also give you a typed sheet regarding post-op care with all the advice and expertise you may need. You can also print your own - Click Here.
There are now also a few University Courses for Veterinary Nurse training. If you are interested in Veterinary Nursing, please have a look at the BVNA web site - HERE
